SupersizedMeals.com gets an award for the strangest use of AbiWord's unix icon. In light of the site's content, I can't help but think that one of OpenOffice.org's icons would have been more appropriate :).

While an instigative post on the mailing list has already prompted a number of humorous and thoughtful replies, I found it most interesting for the very fact that the same user had asked for help only a week prior. He received a few suggestions, but never bothered to reply (publicly, at least) to any of them, choosing, instead, to sheepishly post a recommendation for OO.o Writer. He later mentioned the ease of printing with OO.o, which probably explains his sudden change of tune, but that point is lost in his muddled responses. Now, I don't point this out because he decided to use a different word processor -- that detail is unimportant to me -- but rather to show the unhelpfulness of his course of action and his words.
Instead of silently switching programs, he made a spectacle of himself by trolling on a mailing list, something he acknowledges through his admitted reluctance to post. Furthermore, when pressed for specific flaws in AbiWord, he ironically replied that his English was too poor to articulate those shortcomings; so, in lieu of that, he endorsed OO.o instead. He finally did point out flaws in AbiWord, though, so maybe his English greatly improved in those few short hours. At any rate, I think it's clear that some people have a predisposition for unhelpfulness. Rather than reporting any issues to Bugzilla, he spent time writing those emails and, in turn, diverted time from the whole community. From my experience, anyone who goes through that much trouble to be unhelpful will never contribute anything remotely useful, so it's best to ignore their presence (especially if they veil their unhelpfulness behind claims of poor articulation that their emails belie).
